Superstring theory is a model for understanding the fundamental constituents of matter and is 1 of the theories and hypotheses of physics. It extends string theory, which regards matter's fundamental units as strings with 1-dimensional extent rather than infinitely small 0-dimensional point particles, by adding the idea of supersymmetry. It is also called super-string theory or superstring theory. As a hypothesis that can unravel the form of the universe and the mechanism of its birth while simultaneously explaining the world beyond microscopic things such as atoms, elementary particles, and quarks, this theory is highly developed with almost no internal contradictions. However, sufficient experimental results supporting it have not been obtained. Moreover, the energy necessary for experiments demonstrating this theory is assumed to exceed what humanity can handle, leaving room for debate about its testability.
