Metaethics is a field of ethics discussing fundamental, abstract questions such as what terms and concepts used in ethics mean in the first place and how they should be defined, rather than normative discussions of what “ought” to be done.
メタ倫理学(metaethics)とは、「~べき」といった規範的な議論ではなく、倫理学で使われる用語、概念がそもそも何を意味するのか、どのように定義すべきかといった本質的・抽象的な議論をする倫理学の一分野のことです。
