https://scrapbox.io/files/65079fd8d4de48001b3ec0c3.png Velvet is a warp-pile fabric with relatively long pile. It is manufactured by weaving 2 plain- or twill-weave fabrics together with pile yarns through warp yarns and then cutting them into 2 pieces. Its densely aligned fibers give a distinctive feel around their ends. It is called velvet in English, veludo in Portuguese, velours in French, and birodo in Japanese.
