Jubilee 2000 (Japanese pronunciation: jubiri nisen; Jubilee 2000) is a social movement campaign that spread globally from 1990 seeking cancellation of the debts of the poorest countries, and the organization promoting it. It called for cancellation of the unpayable accumulated debts of the poorest countries to mark the year 2000. Since 2001, it has continued its activities through separate national organizations.
