Joseph Beuys’s statement that “all human activities, whether labor or anything else, are art, and every human is an artist” succinctly expresses the “social sculpture” he continued advocating through his activities. It is precisely the idea that society should be created.
ヨーゼフ・ボイスの遺した「人間の行う活動は労働あれ、何であれ、すべて芸術であり、すべての人間は芸術家である」という言葉は、彼が活動を通して主張し続けた「社会彫刻」そのものを端的に表現している。 社会を作り上げていくべきだという考えに他ならない。
