Ontology originally refers to “the study of being (the discipline examining what existence is)” in philosophy, but in IT research and development have advanced it as a method for sharing and reusing knowledge, using the meaning “a description of how a domain is understood (conceptualized).”
Ontology means organizing and describing human “information” so computers understand it, or the framework itself.
オントロジー(ontology)とは、元々は哲学の世界で言う「存在論(存在とは何かを研究する学問)」を示す単語ですが、ITの世界では知識の共有化や再利用の方法として研究開発が進み「対象世界をどの様に捉えた(概念化した)かを記述するもの」という意味で使われています。
オントロジーとは、人間の持つ「情報」をコンピュータが分かるように整理、記述すること、またそのフレームワーク自体を指します。
