Wild thought is likened to making needed objects from available materials (bricolage) and characterized as the handyman's mode of thinking. When considering a phenomenon before one's eyes, it focuses on its relations with other phenomena, associates other groups of phenomena with similar relationships, and reconstructs them. According to Lévi-Strauss, human thought and culture are formed by particular structures, and those structures are based on universal laws.
