Jumps around the genome, inserting copies of itself all over it. Such a terrifying sequence. An RNA called “4.5SH” finds these copy-and-paste sequences and prevents them from entering mature mRNA during splicing. It has become clear that it collectively “treats” more than 100 genes containing inserted copy-and-paste sequences, functioning like a natural gene-therapy drug.
