The Indian Ocean Dipole is an atmosphere-ocean phenomenon in which tropical Indian Ocean water temperatures fall in the east and rise in the west from early summer to late autumn. Including accompanying changes in wind and climate, it has been shown to strongly influence global climate like El Niño. #word
