“Les Demoiselles d’Avignon” is a painting Pablo Picasso made in 1907 while interested in African sculpture. It became the starting point of the later “Cubist revolution.” Also called “The Women of Avignon.” At the time it was painted, there were brothels on Barcelona’s Avinyó Street, and it depicts 5 prostitutes from there.
