“Katadoru” means “to copy,” “to make in the likeness of,” or “to symbolize,” as in “depicting everyday life” or “a pattern shaped like leaves.” From its appearance, the word is often mistakenly read as “zoru” or “shoru.” Many words containing its first character read it as “zo” or “sho,” but this time it has a different reading.
