What is a lithograph (stone print)? Its name is said to derive from lithos (Greek for stone). As the name suggests, it is a print drawn on a flat stone (metal plates and other materials are now also used) and printed. It is called planographic because the image is drawn on a flat plate surface (without engraving it) and printed while the surface remains flat. #word
