Six degrees of separation is the hypothesis that all people and things are connected within 6 steps, making it possible to become indirectly acquainted with people throughout the world through friends of friends.... It is regarded as an example of the small-world phenomenon, in which a world with many people is connected through relatively few intermediaries.
