Probability (Japanese: gaizensei) is the degree to which a thing or event will occur, or knowledge is certain. The first character of “gaizensei” is read “kedashi” and has nuances such as “probably” or “perhaps.” Its second character is read “shikari” and expresses affirmation or agreement. The final character indicates “the nature or tendency of things.”
