A trill is a type of ornament: notes added to make music more brilliant or interesting to hear. A note and its neighboring note are played rapidly in alternation. Because of its sound, the word trill comes from trillo, the noun form of the Italian verb trillare, meaning “birds chirping.”
トリルとは、装飾音という、音楽を華やかにみせるために、面白く聴かせるために付け加えられた音の一種です。 ある音と、その隣の音を、素早く交互に演奏します。 その聴こえ方から、トリルという言葉は、イタリア語で「鳥がさえずる」という意味の動詞trillareの名詞形trilloからきています。
