Gigue | A dance with lively movements <English/Irish style>. The 3rd dance composing a Baroque suite is the “gigue.” The gigue is said to originate from the English and Irish dance called “Jig.” Characterized by leaping movements, it is written in compound meters such as 6/8 or 12/8.
