In October 2011, actress Sayuri Yoshinaga, who continues to recite atomic-bomb poems, travels to Britain at the invitation of the University of Oxford. Her first recital in Europe is accompanied by Ryuichi Sakamoto. A piano a hundred and ten years old plays a poignant melody, and a dove that wandered accidentally into the chapel flies across the ceiling at the climax of the long poem “Lamentation.” Why did her recitation move British audiences? This documentary dramatically depicts the day's events while introducing Yoshinaga's journey of over twenty years with atomic-bomb poetry. The moment atomic-bomb poems crossed national borders now comes alive here.
