RME's MADI technology can transmit not only 64 channels of audio through 1 cable but MIDI signals simultaneously (except MADI Bridge and MADI Converter). It receives remote-control information and sequencer data through the hardware MIDI input and transmits them with MADI data packets. Each channel's information in a MADI signal contains several bits for additional information, including various types of information (Channel Status). RME uses user bits unused in the MADI stream to transmit MIDI data and serial data together with MADI data packets. Serial-data transmission is supported by ADI-642, ADI-6432, and DMC-842.
