SQUID stands for Superconducting Quantum Interference Device and is a superconducting magnetic sensor with extremely high sensitivity. It can measure extremely small magnetic flux densities of around one hundred-millionth to one billionth of geomagnetism. SQUID is the most widely used superconducting application technology.
