—What is the origin of the name op.disc? It is “opus,” the work number used in classical music. In other words, a work-centered principle. It expresses the belief that something does not reside in the label itself; the works reflect the label’s principles most strongly. We did not have a particular concept; our first consideration was simply creating a place where we could output what we thought was good. I have a label for releasing my own works, and so does Fumiya, so a major aim was to provide a place where we could develop and introduce people other than ourselves.
