In mathematics, particularly dynamical systems theory, an Arnold tongue (Japanese reading: Arnold no shita; English: Arnold tongue) for a finite-parameter family of circle maps is a region of parameter space in which the map has a locally constant rational rotation number (English version). Named after Vladimir Arnold. In other words, it is a level set of the rotation number with a nonempty interior. https://scrapbox.io/files/68edf15bf3ab5cddeca24b4f.png https://scrapbox.io/files/68edf1ac3920ffca4d635a24.png
