Book: “The Enchanted Neuron: A Dialogue on the Brain and Music.” This book records a dialogue in which French contemporary composer Philippe Manoury, together with composer and conductor Pierre Boulez and neurobiologist Jean-Pierre Changeux, discusses biological processes in the brain and neuronal functions when creating music. It discusses relationships between music and the brain (music and pleasure, intellectual aspects, etc.). The relationship between computer music and brainwaves Through his activities at IRCAM (Institute for Research and Coordination in Acoustics/Music), Manoury has produced music using electronics and computers. He is positioned less as a leading researcher himself in “composing through brainwaves” than as someone strongly interested in applying neurobiology and technology (including brain activity) to contemporary music. https://www.ntticc.or.jp/ja/exhibitions/1994/program-one-sound-music-artwork-at-ircam-institut-de-recherche-et-coordination-acoustique-musique/
