Technological Utopianism / Techno-utopianism is an optimistic belief or ideology that exponential technological progress automatically resolves every social problem (poverty, disease, labor, conflict, etc.), ultimately realizing a perfect society (utopia). This is a form of “technological determinism,” based on the view that technology is the principal factor determining social structures and human culture. Main characteristics Excessive trust in technology: closely related to “solutionism,” the belief that AI, digital technology, and automation solve every problem. Optimistic future predictions: Considers technological progress to bring human happiness and worldwide fulfillment. Connection with accelerationism: seeking to surpass the limits of current capitalism and social systems by maximizing and accelerating technological development.
