The Omega Point (Omega Point) is the ultimate future point that cosmic evolution eventually reaches, integrating high intelligence and consciousness. Well-known concepts include Teilhard de Chardin's “sacred convergence point” and Frank Tipler's physics-based theory of “the end of the universe when computational capacity becomes infinite.” Main characteristics and related concepts are as follows. 1. Pierre Teilhard de Chardin’s thought (philosophical/religious). Evolution of “complexity = consciousness”: Claims that life and matter become more complex through evolution and simultaneously heighten consciousness. Integration of cosmic consciousness: The idea that at the end of this process, individual consciousnesses merge and converge on the divine center, the “Omega Point.” Noosphere (sphere of wisdom): It becomes the ultimate destination in the process whereby, after the physical biosphere, a “sphere of wisdom” consisting of humanity's mind forms over the entire Earth. 2. Frank Tipler's physics theory (physical). Physics of immortality: assumes computing power increases infinitely during the Big Crunch (the contraction and ending of the universe). Resurrection within a simulation: the theory that, because all information in the universe is preserved and reproduced, resurrection of the dead and effectively “eternal life” become possible within the laws of physics. 3. Related contexts Global brain: A vision of society's future in which all humans and AI on Earth are networked and function as a single intelligence. Technological singularity: The turning point when AI surpasses human intelligence and rapid evolution occurs. Sophia University | Sophia University This concept is discussed as a theory interpreting the future of consciousness and life from perspectives of evolution, cosmology, AI, and information theory.
