This exhibition, “supersymmetry,” is the 3rd presentation of a new work at YCAM and the first in 6 years, following the 2004 concert “C4I” and the 2008 exhibition “datamatics.” First, looking back at your previous works, please tell us how you arrived at this new work. “C4I” incorporates every idea I conceived during my preceding 10 years of activity with Dumb Type, a kind of “scrapbook” scattered with all the elements that would develop afterward. Looking back now, some parts, such as landscape footage I shot with my own camera, seem somewhat verbose as expression. That “verbosity” was stripped away in the subsequent “datamatics” series, and by the “test pattern” series, the expression consists solely of black and white, that is, the binary “0 and 1.” https://special.ycam.jp/supersymmetry/ja/interview/index.html
