Shiro Takatani's “Camera Lucida” refers to his first solo-directed performance work, presented in 2008, or his solo exhibition held at the Tokyo Photographic Art Museum in 2013-2014 (with a published catalogue). An original work of video art composed of images, light, and music, it pays homage to Roland Barthes's book on photography, “Camera Lucida.”
