Teppei stone is a very hard pyroxene andesite found in Nagano Prefecture and elsewhere, readily splitting into slabs. Each slab differs in color and pattern, with a substantial natural appearance. Today it is widely used as an interior and exterior decorative material, including entrance approaches, garden paving (irregular stone), and wall accents.
