The zoetrope is a visual toy that became a prototype of animation: rotating a sequence of still images drawn inside a cylinder and viewing them through slits in its sides makes the images appear to move.
ゾートロープ(回転のぞき絵)は、円筒の内側に描かれた連続した静止画を回転させ、側面の隙間(スリット)から覗くことで、絵が動いているように見えるアニメーションの原型となった視覚玩具です。
