Usually occurs when received signal levels decline, making thermal noise superimposed on the video signal conspicuous. A type of noise when receiving analog television broadcasts, a disturbance in which many white dots appear randomly on the screen. Named because it looks like snow falling on the screen. Also called a sandstorm or storm of sand. https://scrapbox.io/files/648b19e2a03fb9001b9116c9.png
