The Châtelperronian is a culture flourishing in the early Upper Paleolithic of Western Europe approximately 36,000 to 32,000 years ago. Named after the Châtelperron cave in Allier, France. Chronologically it follows the Mousterian and precedes the Gravettian and Aurignacian.
シャテルペロン文化とは西ヨーロッパ後期旧石器時代初期の約3.6万年前から3.2万年前に栄えた文化。フランス、アリエ県のシャテルペロン洞窟にちなんで名づけられた。時代的にはムスティエ文化の後、グラヴェット文化 、オーリニャック文化の前の文化である。
