This VLPFC controls behavior through mutually inhibitory relationships with the amygdala, which outputs motor-response commands to the basal ganglia, and brain reward circuits such as the striatum. Whereas impulsive behavior arises through overactivation of brain reward circuits, VLPFC can be said to correspond to the brain region acting as its brake. https://scrapbox.io/files/65aa225fc2ea9b0022c960d0.png #neuroscience
