A group led by Professor Reinhard Dörner of Germany’s Goethe University announced on the 16th (local time) that it had successfully measured the world’s shortest time, 247 zeptoseconds. Incidentally, zepto is a unit of 10 to the power -21 (one part in a sextillion, or one shojo).
