Known as the person who devised the design called the “von Neumann computer,” the basic structure used in today's personal computers. Died February 8, 1957. During his participation in the Manhattan Project in World War 2, von Neumann worked on developing implosion lenses, establishing that an efficient nuclear bomb could be produced by arranging explosives in a 32-faced polyhedron.
