*Hocket (hocketus): A term used in medieval Europe for a technique in which multiple performers sound when others do not, complementarily weaving a single rhythm or melodic line. Its etymological meaning is “hiccup.” Also found in folk music in Africa and elsewhere.
*ホケット(ホケトゥス):中世ヨーロッパで使われた言葉で複数の演奏者がお互いに他が音を出さない時に音を出し、補完的に一つのリズムまたはメロディーラインを編み出す奏法。 語源の意味は「しゃっくり」。 アフリカなどの民族音楽でもみられる。
