A prepared piano is a technique in which the pianist places bolts, screws, rubber, and similar items between a grand piano’s strings beforehand, making its sounds resemble bells, chimes, drums, and so forth, producing diverse timbres like a percussion ensemble or gamelan with 1 piano.
