“Pragmatism” derives from pragma, Greek for “action” or “practice,” and is the idea of judging the truth of things “by the results of actions rather than theories or beliefs.” Japanese translations include “practicalism,” “actualism,” and “actionism.”
プラグマティズム」とは、ギリシア語で「行動」や「実践」を意味する「プラグマ」に由来して生まれた言葉で、物事の真理を「理論や信念からはなく、行動の結果によって判断しよう」という思想です。 日本語では、「実用主義」「実際主義」「行為主義」などと訳されています。
