Anti-Oedipus was published in 1972 by philosopher Gilles Deleuze and psychoanalyst Félix Guattari, and is volume 1 of the Capitalism and Schizophrenia series. Reexamining the concept of unconscious desire, he considered desire to be something existing within a relationship rather than an entity established in itself. He defines desire as a machine producing various things. According to this view, the Oedipus complex is a social invention, rather than something humans possess originally as Freud's disciple Lacan says. #word
