Exonemo’s “To the Apes” was the art unit’s first solo exhibition in Kyushu, held in 2013/11 at Mitsubishi-Jisho Artium in Fukuoka. Reconfiguring representative works from their early period through 2013, it was also described as their “retrospective.” Event overview: 2013/11/2–12/1, Mitsubishi-Jisho Artium (Tenjin, Fukuoka). Exhibits: representative works including “DesktopBAM,” “Prayer,” and “Lost.” The exhibition featured works unsettling the boundary between the digital and the physical (physical space). Theme: it reinterpreted events on computers and the internet from the perspective of humans’ “return to apes (ape-like instincts).”
