Explanation of the term “Turing test.” A test of how well artificial intelligence (also called a “machine” or “computer”) can imitate a human. Through natural-language conversation, a judge determines whether the other party is artificial intelligence or human. However, it does not measure artificial intelligence’s “intelligence” or “perceptiveness (the ability to recognize and interpret information through the senses).”
