The University of Zurich (Japanese pronunciation: Churihhi Daigaku; English: University of Zurich; official-language name: Universität Zürich) is a comprehensive Swiss university headquartered in Zurich, Switzerland. Founded in 1525; established as a university in 1833. The first university in Europe established by a democratic state rather than under the patronage of the papacy or royalty1. With approximately 25,000 students, it is Switzerland’s largest university and has produced 12 Nobel laureates2 and 24 federal presidents (Switzerland). ETH Zurich is next door, and they cooperate closely in various fields.
チューリッヒ大学(ちゅーりっひだいがく、英語: University of Zurich、公用語表記: Universität Zürich)は、スイスチューリヒに本部を置くスイスの総合大学。1525年創立、1833年大学設置。 教皇庁や王室の後援ではなく民主主義国家により設置されたヨーロッパでは最初の大学1。学生数は約25,000人とスイス最大規模の大学であり、これまでに12人のノーベル賞受賞者、2、24人の連邦大統領 (スイス)を輩出している。隣にはチューリッヒ工科大学があり、様々な分野で緊密な協力関係にある。
