Heavy water contains many water molecules of isotopes with large mass numbers and has a greater specific gravity than ordinary water. Ordinary water, in contrast, is called light water. Since deuterium and protium have identical electronic states, heavy and light water have similar chemical properties. Their different masses, however, give them different physical properties. https://scrapbox.io/files/66af2b4630705a001c9716f6.jpeg
