The Kuramoto model is a mathematical model describing synchronization, proposed by Yoshiki Kuramoto. In particular, it describes groups of interacting nonlinear oscillators. Suggesting behavior in chemical and biological nonlinear oscillator systems, the model has broad applications.
This model assumes that weak interactions act on completely independent (or almost independent) oscillators, and that these interactions are given as the sine function of the phase difference between two oscillators.
