Energeia is a philosophical concept proposed by ancient Greek philosopher Aristotle, meaning “actuality” or “actual activity.” It refers to a state in which something formerly at the stage of potentiality (dynamis) realizes its purpose and is performing its very “activity.” It is also the origin of the English word “Energy,” and is interpreted today as “an activity that enjoys the process itself.”
